IFK Gothenburg has strengthened the security around the team after the threats and distances itself from what happened.

“Requirements and expectations belong to football.

Threats to life and harassment do not.

"Performing under pressure is one thing, but no player or leader performs better through threats and hatred," they write.

The incidents will also be reported to the police.

“What we need now is a united IFK Gothenburg.

We need everyone's continued positive support - not threats and harassment because it does not belong in our association.

Together we will turn this around. ”

IFK Gothenburg writes that "players" have been exposed and when SVT Sport reaches Marcus Modéer, media and information manager at the club, he does not want to tell if it is about one or more players.

- We are aware of how it can be read out, but what is written there is the comment we give, he says and adds:

- It is a very sad thing to have to write about.

IFK Gothenburg has been a disappointment in the Allsvenskan this year and is in thirteenth place in the table.
