Philip Mounir's "Hogar de Lardos" horse, under the supervision of Elizabeth Bernard, and led by Laila Lubembe, won the title of the Challenge Cup race, which was held yesterday at the French Montbane Racecourse, as part of the activities of the 12th edition of the Mansour Bin Zayed International Festival of Purebred Arabian Horses.

The Al Wathba Stallions Cup series of races is held at the local and international levels, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, as part of the festival's policy to support owners and breeders, and to promote purebred Arabian horses.

Eleven young horses at the age of three years participated in the race, who competed strongly for a place in the major races, and "Hugar de Lardus", son of Mr. Genoa, managed to win first place, leaving second place for the pony "Halisco" led by Clement Cadell, while he finished third. On the other hand, the horse "King Monlo" by His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser, is running the challenge of the 1900-meter Al Wathba Stallions Cup race at the French Bordeaux Racecourse today.

The festival is held with the support and patronage of the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism, and with the coordination of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
