Mane double gives Liverpool a win over 10 Chelsea players

Sadio Mane scored twice in a row at the start of the second half as defending champions Liverpool beat Chelsea, who finished the game with 10 men, in the Premier League on Sunday.

The first half was evenly matched before Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen was sent off just before the break after he prevented Mane from being alone.

Christensen received a yellow card at first, before the video assistant referee intervened and the Danish defender was fired.

Roberto Firmino exchanged the ball with Mohamed Salah in a wonderful way and sent a cross that Mane met with a header into the goal in the 50th minute.

Four minutes later, Mane took advantage of Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga to clear the ball, snatched it and then easily scored in the empty goal.

Chelsea won a chance to reduce the gap after receiving a penalty, following a mistake by newly signed substitute Thiago against Timo Werner, but goalkeeper Alison Baker saved Jorginho's attempt a quarter of an hour before the end.

Liverpool scored its second victory in two matches, bringing it to six points, three points behind Chelsea, the owner of the land.
