Olympique de Marseille receives Lille, Sunday evening at 9 p.m., as part of the fourth day of Ligue 1. The Orange Vélodrome will only welcome 1,000 people due to the coronavirus, a heartbreak for fans of the OM.

REPORTAGE

Only 1,000 spectators out of the 65,000 possible.

The Orange Vélodrome de Marseille will not resonate as loudly as usual, Sunday evening, during the meeting between Marseille and Lille as part of the fourth day of Ligue 1. Blame it on the coronavirus epidemic which has accustomed, for several months, the supporters to follow their favorite team on television or in almost empty stadiums.

Despite practice, this restriction of 5,000 to 1,000 supporters is heartbreaking for OM fans.

Some of them decided, as a result of the limited seats in the stadium, to follow the match by proxy, in front of the closed gates of the Orange Vélodrome.

"It hurts my heart to see all these people in front", delivers a supporter while another assures that "it hurts" to see matches without atmosphere, "especially at OM."

"We need our supporters"

Pain for these fervent supporters and a lack of atmosphere which can be penalizing for Marseille players, as Boubacar Kamara, midfielder at OM, confides: "Only having 1,000 people is quite difficult. We need our supporters ".
