Before his match against Gerald Meerschaert in Las Vegas, the Stockholmer had promised that he would ascend the UFC throne, and that he can defeat "anyone, anytime, anywhere".

And early on Sunday morning he kept his word.

In the best boxing manner, he pulled with a straight right that made Meerschaert go down on account.

17 seconds later the referee broke the match.

Goes from clarity to clarity

- My coach had said that maybe I could try some boxing in the first round, to see how it would go, Chimaev says after the match.

The Swede, who goes from strength to strength, has now taken three straight victories in the UFC.

Not only that, it is his third victory in as many attempts.

No one else has previously managed to win their first three matches in such a short time, 66 days.

The first two victories came at the UFC galas on the "Fight Island" island off Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, where the Swede's progress attracted a lot of attention.

Next match not determined

The MMA world may be impressed, but in the middle of it all, Chimaev stays calm, laughs and most of all wants to get back into the octagon, he says at the press conference in Las Vegas.

The next match is not nailed down, but regardless of the opponent, he is ready, and looks forward to a haunting title match at some point in the future.

- Sure, why not.

I have trained hard for this.

I'm ready, says the new Swedish UFC star.
