FC Europa from the British minimal enclave Gibraltar on the southern tip of Spain pressed the Swedish champions Djurgården in tonight's European qualifiers.

In the middle of the first half, the visitors got a penalty, a dubious one, after Kalle Holmberg touched an opponent's leg in the penalty area.

But PK Bråtveit stepped forward and saved Djurgården from a precarious situation.

However, Djurgården would take the lead when Curtis Edwards struck outside the penalty area after a corner return and DIF went to the break in the lead.

Europe pressed on in others

But it was a fragile lead and FC Europa were not harmless.

After 57 minutes, the guests would also equalize.

After a serious communication miss in Djurgårdsförsvaret where Jacob Une Larsson and goalkeeper PK Bråtveit fail to agree on who would take care of the ball, Alex Gallardo was able to score 1-1.

Here and there, Djurgården faced a European failure.

After 62 minutes, Alex Quillo took his second yellow and ten minutes later Djurgården was awarded a penalty and Fredrik Ulvestad stepped forward.

True to his habit, the Norwegian hit the ball in goal from eleven meters.

But despite the lead and one more man, Djurgården was under pressure at the end of the champions from Gibraltar.

PK Bråtveit and the defense were forced to a couple of sweaty saves but in the end the referee put the pipe in his mouth and Djurgården was on to the next qualifying round.

- It's not good enough in the end.

We have to become more cynical, says Djurgården's coach Tomas Lagerlöf in Viasat's broadcast.
