20-year-old Armand Duplantis remains undefeated in 2020.

Tonight, at Rome's Diamond League gala, he managed six meters for the fifth time this year and won his tenth straight outdoor competition this year.

Took Bubka's record

He was the only jumper over 5.85, and then sent up the crossbar of six meters - which he managed in the first attempt.

Thus, he had taken over Sergei Bubka's competition record, and then aimed for the next Bubka record.

The foot is wrapped

Duplantis then moved the bar up to 6.15, to make a new attempt to become the pole vaulter who jumped the highest in history outdoors.

But that did not happen.

Duplantis, who had one foot wrapped, was really close in the first attempt - where he tore with his chest on the way down.

He has not been closer at 6.15 before.

But in the next jump, it went the way.

He then had a lot of air to the bar - and could joyfully celebrate that he is now the best of all time even outdoors.

Already last winter, Duplantis became the world's best pole vaulter of all time, when he jumped 6.18 indoors.
