Novak Djokovic won his first match on Wednesday since his disqualification at the US Open.

The number one in the world was a size too big for the Italian Salvatore Caruso at the Masters tournament in Rome.

On the gravel of the Italian capital, the job was done within an hour and a half.

It became 6-3 and 6-2.

Djokovic made a bad run at the US Open a week and a half ago, where he was disqualified in the eighth finals after hitting a ball out of frustration and hitting a linesman.

In Rome, the Serb had a bye in the first round.

In the battle for a quarter-final ticket, he will face the winner of the match between his compatriot Filip Krajinovic and the Italian Marco Cecchinato.

Djokovic is preparing for Roland Garros in Rome, just like many other players. The last Grand Slam tournament of the year starts next week.
