Vegas initially seemed to be able to save itself in the semifinal series of the Stanley Cup.

Dallas led the series 3-1 before dropping into the NHL bubble in Edmonton, Canada.

A 1-0 lead to Vegas in the first period became 2-0 at the beginning of the third.

But then something happened to Dallas, who put in a new gear.

- We got started a bit already in the second when we got the defense started better, says Dallas coach Rick Bowness.

"Durable gang"

Halfway through the final period, team captain Jamie Benn scored a reduction goal and towards the end of the period, Joel Kiviranta, assisted by John Klingberg, managed to equalize and took it all to extra time.

- We never felt any panic on the bench.

We have been in this situation before and our game felt good even though we were down by two goals.

This is a tough bunch, says Bowness.

In extra time four, the Russian Denis Gurianov, again after a pass from Klingberg, got a goal-scoring shot from one of the technical circles and Dallas' final place was secured.

The end result is written 3–2.

- After all the hard work we have put in to get to where we are today - everything feels worth it, says Klingberg.

- When you sit on the bench and see that puck go in and you know that it means that you are going to the final - words can not describe that feeling, says Bowness.

Win 1999

The last time Dallas played the final in the Stanley Cup was in the year 2000, when the team lost to New Jersey by 2-4 in matches.

In total, the club has played finals four times - in 1981 and 1991 as the Minnesota North Stars and in 1999 and 2000 under the name Dallas Stars after moving to Texas.

A Stanley Cup dent is among the merits after a win over Buffalo in the final series in 1999.
