Al Ain maintains its Asian hopes of a draw with Al Sadd

Al Ain team today snatched a deserved draw from the Qatari Al Sadd team, 3-3, in the third round of the first round of the AFC Champions League, in the first appearance of "Al Zaeem" since the suspension of football activity in the UAE last March.

The point maintained Al Ain’s hopes of reaching the next round of the fourth group, despite the difficult task in a group that also includes Saudi victory and Iranian Sephan.

Although it was the first football test for Al Ain, especially after the Arab Gulf League was postponed until next October, the team made a big match.

Al Ain succeeded in coming out ahead in the first half, thanks to the brilliant player Lapa Kudjo, who scored the first goal in the 5th minute, then Al Ain strengthened the score through Islam Khan with a great shot, while Al Sadd's first goal came through Akram Afif in the 35th minute.

In the second half, Al Ain’s performance fell as a result of fatigue, so Al Sadd succeeded in converting the delay into a 3-2 lead through Santi Cazorla and Baghdad Bounajah, but Al Tawfiq stood with Al Ain, where Al Sadd player Khouhi Boualem scored a goal by mistake in his own net, to end the match with a draw.
