Both before and after his victory in the Tuscany Grand Prix on Sunday, Hamilton wore a t-shirt with the text: "Arrest the police who killed Breonna Taylor".

The message is a pass to the black woman Breonna Taylor who was killed by US police while sleeping in her home in Louisville, Kentucky, in March.

- I have wanted to inform everyone that people are actually killed on the streets.

Someone (Taylor) was killed in his own house, the police were in the wrong house and those policemen are completely free, Hamilton said after the race.

Received support

Before the Tuscany Grand Prix, Hamilton received support from his stable manager in Mercedes.

- It's entirely his decision.

Whatever he does, we will support him, said Toto Wolff.

A spokesman for the International Automobile Federation has said that the incident is under investigation, and that they want to investigate whether Hamilton's message can be considered a political message.

The association has launched an anti-racism and diversity campaign this year, which will mean anti-racism demonstrations before each race.

Hamilton has been involved in working out the campaign.

Breonna Taylor, together with George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery, among others, have become symbols of the police violence that has created huge protests around the world.
