Fredrik Lindgren has been the equalizer himself with three straight finals before Saturday night's competition in Gorzow.

In his fourth straight final, Lindgren took the first victory of the season when he won before Danish Leon Madsen.

Lindgren was at the far end of track four in the final.

Inside him were Jason Doyle, Leon Madsen and Emil Sayfutdinov.

Doyle took the start, but Lindgren made an impressive maneuver as he slipped past inside the fast Australian - and he did not let go of that lead.

- I had such a terrible adrenaline rush after the finish and a really good feeling.

I have been in all three finals and wanted to show that I can win a final in the World Cup as well, it was important to show for myself as well, says Fredrik Lindgren.

Do not remember the final heat

When SVT reached Lindgren, he had not yet seen how it went when he won the final heat.

- It was a special moment.

I was so in the moment that I do not remember anything, and can not say how I thought when I did that overtaking, but I just drove.

I have not seen the heat in retrospect yet either, he says.

Lindgren has found an incredible evenness this season, and is the only driver in the WC series to have ridden all four final heats.

There is also a lot of basis for the World Cup management.

- That I have been so even lies a lot in the mental, I would like to say.

I try not to think so much about what has been and not what lies ahead or my competitors either, but I take one heat at a time.

And that is something I have done well so far, says Fredrik Lindgren.

Won on the nightmare track

And that he is strong mentally, the victory in Gorzow in particular is further proof of that.

Edward Jancarz Stadium has not been one of Lindgren's favorite stadiums in recent years.

- I have had big problems in Gorzow, and not won a heat here in four years, neither in the World Cup nor in the league speedway.

But such thoughts must be dismissed and only make the best of it, where you are right now.

But if you are good in shape and your head is on and you have material that is good, then I can win on whatever course it is, Lindgren says.

Total leader

It was Lindgren's fifth victory in the World Cup context in his career, and his first since the victory in Målilla last season.

He is currently leading the World Cup table, seven points ahead of reigning world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik, ahead of the four remaining races in Prague and Torun.

- I try not to think too far ahead.

I am very happy with the position I am in and the first four competitions I have done.

My ultimate goal is to become world champion, but my focus is on the next competition in Prague and once I'm there, the focus is on every heat, says Lindgren about the great position he has put himself in.

The WC's second Swedish Antonio Lindbäck got three points and finished in 14th place in the end.
