Conor McGregor, the Irish star of MMA, mixed martial arts, was arrested in Corsica on suspicion of attempted sexual assault and for sexual exhibition, Bastia's prosecution confirmed.
"Following a complaint filed on
September 10
, denouncing events that could be classified as attempted sexual assault and sexual exposure, Conor Anthony Mac Gregor has been the subject of a hearing before the gendarmerie services, as a detainee," the prosecution wrote in a statement transmitted to AFP.
No further details were provided on the events that led to the arrest.
Conor McGregor, 32, had announced his
retirement from sports
in June, after having announced it on two other occasions, in 2016 and 2019. But on those two occasions he then reversed his plans.
