Online meeting with government Olympic sports organization Discussing measures against new corona September 11, 18:38
For the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, an online conference was held for the first time to reflect the voices of athletes in the measures against the new coronavirus of the Games.
The competition group expressed an opinion requesting relaxation of restrictions when returning from overseas and improvement of the PCR inspection system.
The online conference was attended by Minister Hashimoto, JOC = Chairman Yamashita of the Japanese Olympic Committee, JPC = Chairman Torihara of the Japanese Para-Sports Committee, and 51 sports organizations.
Minister Hashimoto said, "In order for athletes to perform at their best, it is important for them to work together on measures against the new corona. We would like to hear your frank opinions in order to create effective measures." ..
The competition group expressed the opinion that the two-week waiting time when returning from overseas is affecting the overseas expedition of athletes, and demands relaxation.
There were also calls for a system that would make it easier for athletes to undergo PCR tests.
The government will continue to hold discussions with competition groups and put concrete measures into practice.
