Yesterday, the match between Örebro and Linköping was canceled, when the LHC feared that they had been affected by the coronavirus.

It was just the latest in a series of similar cases in Swedish hockey.

For example, hockeyallsvenska Karlskoga and Västerås have also been affected by infected players.

At least 18 players and other staff in Karlskoga were infected, while at least eight people around the A-team in Västerås tested positive.

Tested on arrival in Latvia

Now there are also reports from the KHL about covid-19 problems.

Last night, the league announced on its official website that the match Dynamo Riga – Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk, which was supposed to have been played on Friday, will be postponed.

The reason is that as many as seven players in Russian Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk tested positive for covid-19 on arrival in Riga in Latvia.

As recently as the night before, Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk had played away against the Finnish Jokerit.
