This summer, the Danish federation threatened to drop the organizers because the economy did not go together without audience revenues.

The organizers and the European Handball Federation EHF have now agreed on how the European Championships can be carried out.

With at least a small audience in the stands.

The matches in Denmark will be played as planned in Herning and Frederikshavn in Jutland.

In the latter place, the Swedish women's national team will play their group game.

Hoping for a solution

The Danish government allows 500 spectators at the matches, but the organizers hope to be able to present a solution to bring in more supporters, EHF writes in a press release.

The matches in Norway will all be played in Trondheim, where the organizers hope to take in a maximum of 200 spectators.

Originally, Stavanger and the Oslo suburb of Bærum would also arrange matches, but now it will only be a Norwegian venue.

Semifinals and finals are played in Trondheim.

The European Championships will be decided on December 3-20.
