Xu Ting (pseudonym), a university student in Beijing, started to like skateboarding last year. She feels that this sport is very popular among young people. “I’m only an entry level. People who play well will challenge some skills, such as in U-shaped pools. Doing exercises, skateboarding and jumping, etc., but these are relatively dangerous for me. I just slide and play on flat ground."

Tian Feng feels that many extreme sports need to be performed outdoors, and continuous exploration in the process of integrating into nature is very attractive to young people.

Wang Zhou enjoys the excitement brought to him by extreme sports. “Continuously challenging himself requires courage and perseverance, and a sense of accomplishment when his technical level is improved.”

The data shows that challenging (78.8%) and stimulating (71.1%) are the main reasons that extreme sports attract young people. Others include: trendy and cool (51.2%), stress relief (43.9%) and physical fitness (18.8%) etc.

Avoid extreme sports risks 75.5% of the youth interviewed reminded to stay in awe

Although extreme sports have a strong appeal to young people, they have a high risk factor and require adequate preparation for participants.

"I practice mountain biking is a gradual process. When I first learn skills and movements, I will practice on flat ground before going to the mountain road." Wang Zhou believes that the most feared part of extreme sports is "adventure". Understand the characteristics of this sport, know possible dangerous situations and how to deal with problems.

Tian Summit organized some friends to carry out short-distance hikes on the outskirts of Beijing on weekends. "Although the exercise intensity is not as strong as extreme mountaineering, I will make safety tips for everyone involved."

"Whenever I see unexpected news about someone participating in extreme sports, I feel heartache." In Tian Feng's view, people participating in extreme sports are eager to conquer and challenge, but all of this should be based on the fear of life. "In the process of extreme mountaineering, the point I feel most is that life is very precious. People are very fragile in front of nature. They simply seek excitement, do not take adequate measures, or engage in extreme sports in undeveloped places. They are all very irresponsible behaviors."

"The reason why it is called extreme sports is because it has a barrier to participation and is not suitable for everyone." Xu Ting feels that before participating in extreme sports, a rational evaluation is required, and not blindly following the trend. Everyone’s physical conditions are different. Choose the sport that suits you.

Some people only see the moment when the climber succeeds, but ignore it. Potential risks.” Tian Feng felt that although extreme sports require courage, awe and caution are more important.
