Vincent Labrune, former OM president, was elected president of the Professional Football League (LFP) on Thursday.

He beat Michel Denisot, the former boss of PSG and favorite of the ballot, by 15 votes to 10.

French football has reserved a new surprise.

While Michel Denisot started as favorite, it was finally Vincent Labrune who was elected president of the Professional Football League (LFP).

The former president of OM beat the ex-boss of PSG by 15 votes to 10, Thursday afternoon during the board of directors of the LFP.

The new president of the League will have his work cut out for him, while French football is in the midst of a governance crisis. The stopping of the professional championships (Ligue 1 and Ligue 2) in March, due to the coronavirus crisis, had revealed major dissensions between club presidents and within the authorities.
