Advisor to Zamalek Club: The Egyptian Football Association cannot impose a penalty on Mortada Mansour

The legal advisor to the Egyptian club Zamalek, Mahmoud Al-Assal, confirmed that the Egyptian Football Association cannot impose any disciplinary punishment on the president of Zamalek Club Mortada Mansour.

The Disciplinary Committee of the Egyptian Football Association decided to impose a fine of 100,000 pounds on Mortada Mansour.

Al-Assal said in statements to Zamalek TV: Mortada Mansour has immunity, and according to Egyptian law, no disciplinary punishment may be imposed on him, because he is a member of Parliament, stressing that the matter requires obtaining approval from the Egyptian Parliament.

Al-Assal touched on the incident of deducting 3 points from the Zamalek club as a result of withdrawing in front of Al-Ahly, and said: “(Jabaliya) committed a disaster because it relied on regulations and overlooked other regulations. The Football Association imposed a penalty on Zamalek without explaining the reasons for the decision, and on which article it was based. He continued: Mortada Mansour is a man of law, so I ask the Football Association not to settle accounts and they will be answered with documents.
