Helsingborg started well and took the lead after only 14 minutes.

Max Svensson walled off with the Dutchman Anthony van den Hurk and put the ball nicely at the front post.

Svensson later also had a position to expand to 2-0 for Helsingborg who were generally sharper in the first half.

The second half became heavier for the Scanians.

Olsson was injured

With 66 minutes played, HIF captain Martin Olsson fell dramatically just outside the penalty area.

Jakob Voelkerling Persson came in as a replacement for Olsson who was selected for Janne Andersson's latest national team squad, but who could not participate due to corona infection in HIF.

After the midfield exit, Kalmar took over and was very close to equalizing twice after a free kick from the left edge.

That time there was no goal, but shortly afterwards Filip Sachpekidis instead played the ball nicely to the 20-year-old jumper Edvin Crona who put in the equalizer.

Kalmar took over the game completely and had two great positions in a short time, but Helsingborg goalkeeper Alexander Nilsson took both with nice saves.

Kalmar continued to press, but did not get in more balls.

Both teams among the last three

With the draw, neither Helsingborg nor Kalmar will reach safe ground in the Allsvenskan.

Helsingborg is in the qualifiers and Kalmar is second to last with only Falkenberg behind.

Kalmar has not won since the defeated Häcken away a month ago.
