Both the cross-country and biathlon national teams had planned to go to France for training camp for the coming season, but both canceled due to the risks posed by the corona pandemic.

The national cross-country team still chose to go to Zermatt, Switzerland, for a week's camp on snow.

- If you compare Sweden down here, I do not know if it is so much worse here.

It is difficult to train skicross at home.

It may be a little easier to roller ski and get some exercise anyway.

It takes snow for us to be able to train what we do.

It is more difficult for us to achieve similar conditions, says Näslund.

Mouthguards in the gondolas

The corona pandemic is still being reminded in Zermatt.

- You need mouth protection in the gondolas and so on.

Sometimes when you are indoors too.

You are a little more careful and wear mouth guards often, but once up on the slopes it is not noticeable so much, says 24-year-old Näslund.

What was it like to travel?

- It was a little strange when you left, when you had been home since March.

It feels a little strange, but even if we do not know much about the season, we expect it to end and then we have to prepare in the best way, she says.

"I want to continue to be the best"

The season is scheduled to start in French Val Thorens on December 4 and in February 2021, the World Cup will be decided in Chinese Zhangjiakou.

Näslund enters the season as the winner of the overall World Cup.

- It is clear that I want to continue to be the best in the world and it is clear that the World Cup is a big goal, if it happens, she says.
