Kramer has on several occasions during the season been only a few hundredths from breaking his own record, but today came the hit.

- I have felt all season that I have been good enough for it and to finally be able to go under felt good, he says.

Did you feel it would happen today?

- Yes actually.

It's not always what I have felt that way, but today I have felt it all day really.

I told my coach that 'today will be the Swedish record' and it was.

I've been tuned in to it all day.

Kramer describes a relief after he crowned a great season with a cannon race.

- I have had a stable level of 1.45 and there are no bad times I have done then.

Almost all races I have done this year have been 1.45 and I am very happy to have that as a stable level.

But it has been a bit frustrating as people who have watched my races have almost felt a little sorry for me because I have not broken my record but been one hundredths away.

- That I beat it by a pretty good margin feels very nice, he says.

The Swede came second after the British Jake Wightman.

- We were very many in the race, almost as many as you can be in an 800-meter race.

It was a lot about taking a good position in the beginning and lying with.

I am happy that with 300 meters left I chose to go for it and not be a coward.

I think I succeeded well with that.

Now a season finale in Zagreb awaits.

- The starting field looks strong in Zagreb so we will see how it goes there.

I will charge for it as a season finale and then we will see if I can maybe run even faster, says Kramer.
