Since the sports arbitration board, Cas, last year ruled that Caster Semenya is not allowed to compete in distances between 400 and 1,500 meters, she has been missing in the big competitions.

This is because she refuses to take medication to bring down her extremely high testosterone levels.

Semenya, 29, appealed the verdict to the Swiss federal court, but now it is clear that the verdict is upheld.

The federal court writes that they have only ruled on whether the Cas decision violates basic and generally accepted principles and they believe that this is not the case.

Now Semenya can not appeal the verdict more than once.

This spring, Semenya opened to aim for the Olympics in the sprint distance of 200 meters.

"My dream has always been and continues to be, to compete at the highest level," Semenya wrote on Instagram and continued:

"So to continue fighting to reach my goal and my dreams, I have decided to change branch and compete in the 200 meters."
