Matsuyama said, "The driver was stable. Putt had some good points and some bad points, and tomorrow we want everything to go in a good direction."
America's Dustin Johnson totaled 19 unders, with five strokes ahead of second-placed American Zander Schaffrey and Justin Thomas of the United States to secure the lead.
