The President of the Handball Federation, Muhammad Abdul Karim Julfar, revealed amendments to the dates of the new election cycle 2020-2024, including the postponement of the electoral general assembly to the fifth of next October, during which the voting and voting on the new Federation’s Board of Directors will take place, instead of the race date on Current 27.

Julphar told Emirates Today that: “The concern for the progress of the democratic process and electoral integrity, and the provision of more time for submitting appeals against the final lists of candidates, was behind the decision to postpone.”

He explained: “The door for candidacy was closed yesterday, and the election committee received the closed conditions submitted by the clubs, which include lists of their candidates, whether for the position of president or membership, and even the representative to run for the women's seat elections, provided that the conditions are opened today and the committee will hand over the names of the representatives of the clubs who will run in the elections. On the 20th of this month, the announcement of the initial list, and then the door for appeals against the list of candidates and the extent of their conformity with the election conditions for a period of four days, and on the 28th of this month, the Appeals Committee issues its decisions, then announces the final list that will be polled on the fifth of October.

He added, "The democratic process of the electoral cycle and its timeline continues to return and the door for appeals is opened on the 6th of October to receive appeals against the election results, before the 11th of the same month the appeals decisions are issued, followed by the next day with the approval and announcement of the final results."
