It was a week ago that sprint specialist Jessica Diggins injured her left foot.

"It looked so bad that I was worried that I might have broken it," she says on Instagram and shows a picture of a really swollen and blue-purple foot.

But the unrest was unjustified - it turned out to be a sprain.

“I now realize what luck I had who got away so lightly with an injury!

It has been an interesting process to see it heal, and follow my own feelings as I have changed the training approach to the right and left.

But on the whole, it is not a huge thing, even if it feels like that right then ", she writes.

At first, Diggins had no intention of telling about the injury.

But after a visit to the grocery store, jumping on crutches, she changed her mind.

She tells how she received unwanted "advice" and "jokes" from people who were not her doctors.

"I understood why athletes are often told that they should hide all their flaws.

But it is important for young athletes to know that even the professionals get hurt, that they become impatient and frustrated during the healing process, and that we are just people who try to do our best every day ”.
