Tänak, who is fifth in the World Cup total, is in need of a victory at home to take on the 24-point lead as World Cup leader Sébastien Ogier.

Tänak has been the fastest on several of Saturday's 10 distances and has a lead of just under twelve seconds before tomorrow's end.

Second is Craig Breen and the Irishman who makes his second World Cup start this year has convinced in the World Cup restart.

- Breen is the competition's surprise in the WRC so far.

I knew he was fast but he impresses a lot.

Tänak is doing well but I probably thought he would be even faster but on the other hand, he leads the rally and that's good, says SVT's expert Jonas Kruse.

Six-time world champion Sébastien Ogier is third, five seconds behind Breen, and with a distance of 17 seconds up to Tänak.

Neuville broke

The Belgian Thierry Neuville was involved for a long time and fought in the top three, but on stage seven the accident occurred.

- He had an OK start to the rally but a small mistake in the tracks where the car bottomed out and jumped out of the tracks resulted in major damage to the suspension on the right rear wheel and he was forced to break for the day.

Extremely costly for his championship ambitions.

Tidemand in second battle

Pontus Tidemand is in fourth place in the WRC2 class led by the standard man Mads Östberg.

Tidemand has thirteen seconds up to the podium.

- Stable start and effort so far, he is in an exciting second battle for a podium place.

He has a steady and high speed, now that little extra is needed to take in and put pressure and hopefully take a podium place, says Kruse.

Solberg leads WRC3

Oliver Solberg is the fastest of all R5 cars and leads the WRC3 class.

The 19-year-old has taken all the distance victories in his category today.

- He drives superbly and you can not stop being impressed by his progress.

He drives flawlessly and extremely fast for his little experience in this car.

The juniors broke

It was a gloomy day for the Swedish JWRC drivers (junior class).

Tom Kristensson, WC second last year, was in the lead when he was forced to break the rally on distance three due to engine problems.

Kristensson will not restart tomorrow.

Pontus Lönnström was also forced to break for the day after the drive shaft broke but will restart tomorrow.

SVT broadcasts live tomorrow from the last leg, power stage, during the World Rally Championship in Estonia.
