The Swimming Federation holds an extraordinary general assembly today to approve the simple amendments made to the statute of the statute, after considering the indicative list of the General Authority for Sports, using direct (remote) visual communication, after discussing a number of the articles of the regulation last week, and agreeing on all organizational matters And for the next phase of the elections.

Last Saturday, the Swimming Union held a workshop last week in Dubai, attended by 13 clubs from the members of the General Assembly, during which all matters related to the statute and the election list were agreed upon, and the draft was approved with the exception of some minor amendments to the statute, and it has been carried over to today for voting. It should be directly listed without re-discussion after the workshop is completed

The Secretary-General of the Swimming Federation, Abdullah Al-Wahaibi, confirmed that the union’s extraordinary general assembly today will adopt amendments to the statute and election regulations, in addition to setting a date for the federation’s electoral process, and choosing a president for the elections committee and a head of the appeals committee from the clubs ’list of candidates.

Al-Wahaibi clarified in a press statement that “Al-Ittihad addressed the clubs in order to nominate what it deems appropriate to chair one of the two aforementioned committees, provided that he be a citizen of the country, in order to approve the nominated names and move forward to the next phase related to setting the election schedule for the next election cycle 2020-2024”.

The current president of the federation, Sultan Al-Samahi, confirmed that he did not intend to run for the presidency for a new round, and that he would be satisfied with only one electoral cycle.
