Following Brazil's announcement yesterday - now the English Football Association also announces that they are introducing equal pay between all national team players. According to the FA, the change came into force as early as January, but was not announced until Thursday.
When asked why they did not go out with the information already in January, a spokesperson replied that equal pay should be given and therefore there was nothing to trumpet out.
The issue of equal pay is also relevant in Sweden, where the Discrimination Ombudsman acquitted SvFF of wage discrimination last week.
