Janne Andersson: For us, it was a clear decision

Janne Andersson defended the decision not to take out Martin Olsson, despite the football association forcing Helsingborg to play a match as late as Sunday.

- I talked to Martin yesterday and both he and I were very disappointed of course. He has been in an environment where there has been a great infection. But for us, it was clear to make that decision. There is a big difference between playing a football match for two hours outdoors and being in a closed party for ten days.

Otherwise, the entire Swedish squad of 23 players is healthy and fit. Martin Olsson will not be replaced.

How Janne Andersson will form his starting eleven is unclear, even for himself.

- All 23 players are good enough to be taken out in a starting eleven, he said.

Janne Andersson was critical of how the authorities and politicians have handled football during the corona panemy.

- I have worked with football at different levels for 38 years and I understand that they weigh things against each other. But outwardly, when I listen to their statements, it indicates a great deal of ignorance.
