Anna Nordqvist shows good form in Rogers in Arkansas, USA. Holes one through six began with five birdies. There were four more before the bogey-free second round ended with 62 strokes.

Stable, thought the Swede.

- Both today and yesterday. I got off to a great start. Had many good chances and put a few putts early, and it just keeps going. It felt like I hit well with the iron clubs, which created many chances, she says to the LPGA site.

Nordqvist seems to thrive on the track.

- There's something about Arkansas, I've always liked this place. It's one of the few places in the US where I can imagine living, because I like the atmosphere here.

From sharing the lead after the first round, the 33-year-old now sits alone at the top of the results list, three strokes ahead of chasing Kim Sei-Young from South Korea.

Hard competition

To keep the competitors away, more birdies are required in the final round, Anna Nordqvist believes.

- There is tough competition out here, to win you have to play at the top. It feels good so far, but I have to get low tomorrow too, she says.

Caroline Hedwall also had a great day. Eight birdies and a bogey meant 62 strokes, and a split seventh place, a total of nine strokes behind Nordqvist.

Two strokes further down are Pernilla Lindberg and Linnéa Ström, in shared 18th place.

Other Swedes in the competition - Louise Ridderström, Dani Holmqvist, Madelene Sagström, Linnéa Johansson and Jenny Haglund - do not seem to be allowed to continue playing.
