After 29-year-old Jacob Blake was shot with eight shots in the back by a police officer in the state of Wisconsin, several American athletes have protested. Several NBA games were canceled as a protest against police violence against blacks in the United States - but on Saturday the playoffs resume.

The country's president Dana White met with the press last night, Swedish time, and then spoke about the boycott.

The protests and the postponed matches are a threat to the NBA's future, Trump says.

- It's very bad for the NBA. And it will be just as bad for American football (if they choose to do the same, please note), says the president.

When the NBA now resumes play, it is with several measures to promote social justice, including polling stations being opened in all arenas owned by NBA teams. This is to increase the possibility for risk groups to vote in the presidential election.

Another factor that led the league and the players' union to agree was that the NBA promised to push for gender equality work in society.
