- It was not to order. It was annoyingly close, a little sour. Had I been told how close I was with 300 meters left, I think I would have made it but there will be more races. I would have loved to take it home, says Hassan who thought he was too defensive during the final laps.

- I would have liked to break a Swedish record in Sweden, Ullevilöparen Hassan thinks.

It was a personal record with 13 seconds for 22-year-old Hassan who had good traction by Matthew Ramsden who came second in 13.16,63. World runner Stewart McSweyn ran on light legs in the finish on 13.09.83 after leaving the field behind. It was a huge finish where the last 2000 meters went at 5.02 for the Australian.

In the shadows, 19-year-old Emil Millan De La Oliva made a giant race and broke his Swedish junior record by 27 seconds to 13.29.59. Only Kenyans and a Japanese have run faster by juniors in the distance this year. Oliva is eight through the ages on the Swedish senior list which Anders Gäljud tops at 13.17.59.
