It is the end of a long soap opera. After several weeks of negotiations, Stade Rennais has its third recruit of the summer with the arrival of Serhou Guirassy. The Franco-Guinean striker from Amiens signed on Thursday for a five-year contract with the Breton club with a transfer of around 15 million euros.

Born in Arles and trained in Laval, Guirassy briefly discovered Ligue 1 in Lille in 2015, before being loaned to Auxerre (Ligue 2), then leaving to learn in the Bundesliga and the Europa League with Cologne. This 24-year-old tricolor international returned to Ligue 1 in Amiens from January 2019, first in the form of a loan and then in the summer with a transfer of 5 million euros, the biggest in the history of club picard. He scored nine goals last season, including a brace against PSG in February.
"A mixture of experience and youth", according to Florian Maurice
His profile interested several English clubs, but he had chosen Rennes at the start of the summer. " I am relieved. It took a long time but I am very proud and very happy, ”he reacted Thursday evening in a statement from the Breton club.
“It took a little longer than expected but we are satisfied to arrive at the end, rejoiced Florian Maurice, the new sporting director of Rennes. It's a good choice for him and for us. He has this mixture of experience and youth which will allow him to continue to grow ”.
