European success for Hammarby's new acquisition from Mjällby

Hammarby rolled up Puska's defense and Paulinho curled the ball for 3-0 in the far right end with five minutes left and secured the victory. Puskas had made efforts to reach a reduction but was never really close.  

This is in front of the eyes of co-owner Zlatan Ibrahimovic who followed the match on Tele2.

With 14 minutes played, Mjällby's Mohanad Jeahze almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net.

Left-back Jeahze went straight into Hammarby's starting eleven two days after the signing.

After just over half an hour, Darijan Bojanic increased to 2-0 after managing his own free kick. He shot in the far corner and several Hammarby players ducked into the wall and confused the goalkeeper Auerbach who did not cover in the "own" far corner.

After 62 minutes, the Hungarians' first shot came on goal, which says a lot about the match picture until then. It was Puska's only shot on goal, a statistic that Bajen won 8-1.

A job post for Hammarby was that comebacking Muamer Tankovic went out due to injury, went to the back of the thigh, at the beginning of the second half.

On Monday, the qualifiers for the second round, which will be played on 17 September, will be drawn.

Puskas Akademia comes from the small village of Felcsut (35 km outside Budapest), best known for being the home village of Prime Minister Viktor Orban, with only 1800 inhabitants. The home arena takes more than twice as many spectators who live in the village.
