The left-back position at TFC lacked a taulier since the departure on loan from Issiaga Sylla to Lens. Deiver Machado has to be this one. The Colombian international (27 years old on September 2) signed this Tuesday with everything fresh relegated to Ligue 2, picked at the opening of the championship at the Stadium on Saturday by the promoted Dunkirk (0-1). He arrives free, although the duration of his contract has not been communicated.

Moussa Diarra (holder this weekend) and Mathieu Gonçalves being too tender, Machado will have to bring his acquired experience to the country (Atlético Nacional, Alianza Petrolera, Millonarios), to La Gantoise (Belgian L1) in 2017-2018 and in selection (three capes, a participation in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio).

Presented as an offensive side, this light weight (1.72 m, between 62 and 70 kg according to sources) will help the American version of the Violets to achieve their immediate and assumed goal: the rise in Ligue 1.

Three or four more recruits?

After Saturday's defeat, coach Patrice Garande had indicated to wait “between four and five players”, by the end of the transfer window, set in this year of Covid-19 on October 5. Machado is the fifth recruit of the Toulouse summer, after goalkeeper Maxime Dupé, midfielders Steve Mvoué and Branco van den Boomen and striker Vakoun Bayo.
