The transfer from Danish Nykøbing Falster was completed already in June, but the corona pandemic has delayed the move to Russia for the national team's Anna Lagerquist.

Now it will instead be a jump start for the middle six from Lund.

Debut yesterday in the cup semi-final (victory against Kuban Krasnodar with 37-25), victory in the cup final today and the league game begins on Saturday.

- It is very fun to play real matches again, I have not done that since March. It felt a bit tough yesterday but I have only trained fully in a few training sessions so it is important not to get too eager but step up in a good way, says Lagerquist to SVT Sport on the phone from Moscow where Thursday's final was decided.

Sabina Jacobsen's CSKA Moscow led for a while with four balls, but Rostov-Don turned to victory with 29-26.

With four straight league titles, Rostov-Don has been Russia's best team in recent years and is ranked as one of the world's top club teams. There, Anna Lagerquist will compete with Russian national team veteran Kseniya Makeyeva, 29.

- She is incredibly good so it will be fun to fight for playing time. We'll see how much it will be. My focus right now is just to get started with handball again and find my way back to shape, says the Swede.
