Former Japanese national football player J1, Atsuto Uchida, defender of Kashima Antlers, will be retired this season.

This was announced on the official website by Antlers on the 20th.

As a result, Atsuto Uchida will end his contract with the club on the 31st of this month and will retire from active duty this season.

Uchida is 32 years old from Shizuoka prefecture.

He joined the Antlers in 2006 and contributed to the league's third consecutive title.

In 2010, he moved from Antlers to Schalke, Germany, and was selected to represent Japan at the 2010 and 2014 World Cup South African and Brazilian tournaments.

At last, he returned to Antlers from Union Berlin in the second part of Germany and had a strong presence as a veteran player, but he played only one game in the league this season.

Uchida will greet his retirement after the league match against Gamba Osaka on the 23rd of this month.
