The government has announced that Minister of the Interior Mikael Damberg and Amanda Lind, Minister of Culture and Democracy and Minister responsible for sports issues, will have a joint press conference tomorrow Friday at 10 am.

Football has demanded a quick message about the audience issue and also developed a comprehensive set of rules for how to be able to receive audiences in an infectious way. It's about everything from distance in the audience to how to handle entry and exit.

- We have stated that we want, expect and are prepared to carry out test events with the public. We think it is reasonable, Håkan Sjöstrand said earlier to TT.

Meeting with the ice hockey association this week

In connection with Sjöstrand's statement, two weeks ago, however, state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell said that it was too early to change the law on public gatherings of a maximum of 50 people.

- If the autumn continues to be calm then maybe, but right now it is not the situation, he said.

Amanda Lind had a meeting earlier this week with the Swedish Ice Hockey Association and SHL to discuss the audience issue before the start of the season in September.

Throughout the pandemic, Swedish ice hockey has had a good dialogue with Minister of Sports Amanda Lind as well as the Swedish Public Health Agency and the police. Just as in previous meetings, Amanda Lind today showed great interest and understanding of our problems and has promised to return in the near future with information, said the hockey association's chairman Anders Larsson after the meeting.
