Coach Koman .. "icon" of restoration in Barcelona

The pace of developments in the corridors of Barcelona accelerated in the last hours with the board of directors of the Catalan club taking a series of decisions that began with the dismissal of coach Quique Setien, then joined the sports director Eric Abidal, before his president Josep Maria Bartomeu announced the appointment of the Dutch Ronald Koeman as the new coach.

The Catalan club announced the dismissal of Setien on Monday, following the resounding defeat of Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of the European Champions League last week, and a comprehensive review was necessary in order to put the club on the path of competition locally and in Europe.

"If all goes well, Koeman will be the coach who will oversee the team and the players under a different program," Bartomeu said in an interview with the club's official network.
He added, "We bet on him because we know him well, we know how he sees things, and we know how his teams play, but also thanks to his experience because he played for the (Dream Team) team under the supervision of Johan Cruyff and knows Barcelona and his style of play.
