Platform shoes World Athletic Federation cannot be used in truck events 0:02 on August 19th

Regarding the “thick sole shoes” that have been recorded by athletes used in marathons in succession, the World Athletic Federation of the international competition group announced the revision of the regulation that they cannot be used in track events. On the other hand, the JAAF decides to use it until the end of November this year, at the discretion of the organizer of the tournament.

The “thick sole shoes” have a high repulsive force due to the embedded carbon fiber plate, and they have recorded good records one after another in long-distance events such as marathons.

In January, the World Athletic Federation established a regulation that the thickness of shoe soles should be 4 cm or less, saying that "the integrity of sports is threatened by technology."

Regarding the thickness of this shoe sole, the World Land Federation has announced a revision of the regulations that the number of truck events less than 800 meters is 2 cm or less, and the events of 800 meters or more are 2.5 cm or less. Except for laces, "thick sole shoes" close to 4 cm cannot be used.

On the other hand, as a result of the Japan Land Federation's consideration of the response in response to this announcement, we decided to leave it to the end of November with the decision of the tournament organizer whether it can be used.

Records made by Japanese athletes in Japan during this period will be treated as official records even if they are platform shoes that are not specified by the World Federation of Athletics, but the official results will note which athletes were wearing non-specified shoes. Will be done.

Regarding the platform shoes, the athletes who used them at the track event held in Hokkaido last month showed good results one after another.
