Petter Northug was stopped at a speed control outside Oslo on Thursday after driving 168 kilometers per hour on a 110 road.
This led to the police later finding cocaine in the Norwegian ski star's home.

This has really affected the Norwegian, says his lawyer Halvard Helle.

- Petter has reached the bottom. He's in the basement. He has people around him and undergoes health checks, he tells NRK.

On Monday, the prosecutor announced that Northug is suspected of speeding, for being under the influence of drugs and possession of drugs. He faces up to two years in prison.
