MMA fighter Jairzinho Rozenstruik has shown recovery at the UFC 252 in Los Angeles after his painful defeat in May against Francis Ngannou. The Surinamese beat Junior Dos Santos on Saturday evening (local time) via a knockout.

Rozenstruik delivered a decisive series of punches to former UFC champion Dos Santos in the second round of the fight, after which the referee protected the Brazilian and declared Rozenstruik the winner.

The 32-year-old Rose Bush suffered a painful defeat against Ngannou in May. He was knocked out after twenty seconds against the native Cameroonian. It was Rozenstruik's first defeat in eleven heavyweight MMA matches (five of which in the UFC).

"This feels great", said Rozenstruik after his match against Dos Santos, which was held behind closed doors. "I wanted to fight as soon as possible after my defeat to Ngannou. I went back to the gym and this is the result we were looking for. We had to set things right."

Rose Bush is one of the emerging heavyweight fighters in the UFC. He was named Rookie of the Year last year , the award for best talent in the weight class.

At UFC 252, Daniel Cormier announced that he was going to retire after his lost title fight against Stipe Miocic. The 41-year-old MMA heavyweight fighter cited the lack of prospect of a new title fight as the main reason for leaving the martial arts. He captured the UFC title in both the heavy and lightweight in 2018.
