Another feat! A week after eliminating Cristiano Ronaldo's Juventus and qualifying for the quarter-finals, Olympique Lyonnais released the English Manchester City from the Champions League "Final 8". A historic match for the Lyon club, which was able to count on the performances of Maxwel Cornet, Moussa Dembélé or even Houssem Aouar. Ten years after their first qualification in the semifinals of the premier competition of European football, Gones supporters let their joy explode. Scenes of jubilation erupted in Lyon, but also in Lisbon. Although the match took place behind closed doors, around fifty French-speaking and expatriate supporters gathered.

"You have to be honest, nobody expected it"

A few minutes after Moussa Dembelé's victorious goal, Morgan, who has lived in Lisbon for four years, still found it hard to believe. "Honestly, it's that happiness, it's crazy!" he blurted out at the microphone of Europe 1. "You have to be honest, nobody expected it", he concedes. "But that's the beauty of football!" Because Olympique Lyonnais faced a monstrous Manchester City who had released in the round of 16 Real Madrid, winner of the competition last year.

The Citizens beaten, the fans of Olympique Lyonnais are already looking forward to the semi-final next Wednesday, against another giant of European football: Bayern Munich. Micka, the euphoria helping, believes in a new feat. “Lyon can do it,” he says. OL "proved that against the big teams, it was solid" he explains at the microphone of Europe 1, saying that he dreams of a Franco-French final, against Paris Saint-Germain.

Against Bayern, "Lyon can do it"

But everyone knows it: reaching the final will not be easy. In 2010, at the same stage of the competition, it was Bayern Munich who blocked the way to the final at Olympique Lyonnais. And after the insolent 8-2 victory of the Germans against Barça, Lewandoski's team leaves more favorite than ever against Gones. But in the Champions League, this year, impossible is not Lyonnais.
