One, two, one. This is Umeå's result line for the past three years when SVT Sport named Sweden's best sports city. This year, Västerbotten took a historically superior victory with 425 points against runner-up Jönköping's 284. As many as 27 out of 50 jury members had Umeå as number one and the city was with 40 out of 50 top three.
"Feels absolutely fantastic"
SVT Sports Ola Bränholm was on site in Umeå to hand out the trophy to the municipal board chairman Hans Lindberg and one of the world's best floorball players Emelie Wibron with ten years in the Umeå club Iksu.
- There is an incredible interest in sports here in the city and I think it's fun that the whole city can be noticed and share this, says Emelie Wibron in SVT's broadcast.
- It feels absolutely fantastic. These are really our zealots in Umeå who have done this, the association life together. We will run around with this trophy to the associations and say: "This is you who have done this and we celebrate together", says Hans Lindberg in the broadcast.
