Meanwhile, Ducati sports director Paolo Ciabatti confirmed the decision after Batistella's words. "We met with Simone this morning here at the Red Bull Ring and realized that, unfortunately, the conditions do not exist to continue our relationship with 'Dovi' beyond the end of the current contract," he said.
The 34-year-old Forlimpopoli rider, 125cc champion in 2004, ended up at Ducati in 2013 after Valentino Rossi left for Yamaha; In total, in the premier category, he has achieved three runners-up (2017, 2018 and 2019) with those of Borgo Panigale.
