At the end of July, Amb hit a new personal best, throwing 86.49. It was the culmination of his hard work back to the top after a shoulder injury.

- When you can lie down and throw long distances in training, it is easier for the body to recognize it in competition. If you lie and throw 70 meters in training, it is damn difficult to throw 85 in competition, he told SVT Sport after the record throw.

During the final session of the Swedish Championships weekend in Uppsala, he again showed good form and won at 83.60, just over 12 meters longer than the silver medalist Jakob Samuelsson.

- It's high, high class again. If I have counted correctly, this was Amb's ninth competition this season and the ninth time he has thrown over 81 meters, says SVT's commentator, Jacob Hård.

Kim Amb's fine development bodes well for the Olympics next summer.
