When a new champion is crowned in the US Masters on November 15 and is allowed to put on the green jacket, he will be able to do so without cheering crowds. Today, the organizer announced that they have made the decision to decide the competition without an audience.

- The health and safety of everyone involved in the US Masters has always been our top priority. During the process, we have consulted several experts. In the end, we have decided that the potential risks of welcoming spectators to our courses in November are simply too great to ignore, says Augusta National Golf Club chairman Fred Ridley on the competition's website, explaining that it was a tough decision to take:

- Even under the prevailing circumstances, it is a deep disappointment to arrange US Masters without an audience. The guests who come to Augusta every spring from all corners of the world are the most important to make this competition so special.
