The organizers of the Paris marathon announced its cancellation on Wednesday due to the coronavirus. After two postponements, the event scheduled for November 15 will therefore not take place at the start of the Champs-Elysées.

The coronavirus got the better of the Paris marathon. The race, scheduled for November 15, has been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, ASO (Amaury Sport Organization), the organizing company of the event, announced on Wednesday.

Postponed twice

Initially scheduled for April 5, the marathon had been postponed twice (to October 18 and then to November 15) due to a health crisis. The race and its legendary 42.195 kilometers, passes each year in front of the emblematic places of the capital. The departure is traditionally given on the Champs-Elysées, then passes in front of the Opera, Bastille, Notre-Dame or the Eiffel Tower.
