Paulo Sousa is no longer Bordeaux's coach. The Portuguese coach was replaced by Jean-Louis Gasset, who had been Laurent Blanc's assistant with the Girondins, from 2007 to 2010. On the Bordeaux bench, the one who coached Saint-Étienne from 2017 to 2019 .

Bordeaux and its Portuguese coach Paulo Sousa, under contract until 2022, have separated by mutual agreement, the Girondins announced on Monday. They appointed Jean-Louis Gasset in his place. The 66-year-old technician had already passed through Bordeaux as assistant to Laurent Blanc from 2007 to 2010. The former Saint-Étienne coach signed for two seasons on the bench of the Ligue 1 club. Former Girondin defender Alain Roche, 52 years old, was appointed sports director.
